The Purple House International Backpackers' Hostel

The Purple House International Backpackers' Hostel is the ONLY AUTHENTIC travelers hostel located in the second largest city in Panama, David City.

The Purple House is very cozy and friendly, clean and comfortable, a lot like coming home to your own house. We are owned by travelers who know what travelers look for! Our theme is purple, and most guests are surprised to see just how many things we have managed to find in the color PURPLE!

David City is a convenient stopping point on your way to Costa Rica, or Bocas del Toro. You can easily make day trips to Boquete and Cerro Punta. It also tends to be less rainy in David City, than in other parts of the country, so with more dependability you can plan your city jaunts, shopping and sun intake in our backyard!!

Sometimes the reservations systems show us as full, or taxi drivers or other hotel salespeople will tell you we are closed or full, when in fact, we have plenty of space available. If you have a problem reserving please email or call us directly to double check that we have space available, especially for same day or next day availability.

If you want a guarantee that your beds or rooms will be held for you for a 24 hour arrival, then you should contact us directly to confirm it. If not, then your beds or rooms are guaranteed only until 6:00pm on your arrival date (if we need them.)
