The magic of the mountains surrounds you here. All activities take place in full view of the Matterhorn, known here as 'Hore' or 'Horu'. Since it was first conquered more than 150 years ago, this symbol of Switzerland has attracted countless mountaineers and inspired admirers to create spectacular souvenir pictures. As this majestic 4000-metre peak has so many beautiful aspects, several cableways and magnificent hiking routes will take you to one of the numerous viewpoints, such as the Gornergrat, the Klein Matterhorn (Glacier Paradise) or the Sunnegga. Skiers and snowboarders will love the slopes, which have guaranteed snow all year round and offer a view of the Matterhorn, as well as the space available for winter sports equipment in our hostel.

Mijn partner en ik bleven overnachten. We checkten in na een wandeltocht naar Sunnegga en 2 van de 5 meren op de 5 meren tour. Het personeel was geweldig en de kamers waren comfortabel. We kregen ook goede suggesties van het personeel bij de receptie (op beide dagen). Het uitchecken verliep soepel en de communicatie was gemakkelijk. Zou het zeker aanraden aan vrienden en collega's.

Nice, well kept hostel with everything you could need - bar a kitchen. Although the lovely included breakfast makes up for this. Rooms are nice and clean, as are the bathrooms. Not a very social environment but nice commune areas. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. The hostel dinner available for extra was very nice and seems good value.

For a short stay it was a fine hostel, just the necessities. The shower room was VERY small compared to other hostels I've stayed in. There was no shelf to put clothing on, only 2 towel hooks. This was an issue as I was staying in a mixed gender room and was not going to get changed anywhere else besides the shower room. However, the shower, WC and room were all very clean. The bunks were not very strong. When the bottom bunk person rolled over, the top bunk person would sway a bit.
