If you are looking for the perfect place to stay on the beautiful island of Florianopolis, look no more. Your search is over.
Surrounded by lush green gardens, the bamboo lined path leads you to our big wooden doors, straight through reception and onto our poolside patio. It snakes past our bar, yoga area, skate ramp, meditation space, hammocks, private beach area and straight onto the white sand of Barra Da Lagoa Beach. With big spacious rooms, incredible 24/7 hot showers, brand new extra-long beds (for taller people), individual lights and power points, giant private lockers, air conditioning in every room, cotton sheets, free bath towels, daily cleaning, wifi, a very comfortable lounge with big screen TV and PlayStation, ping-pong table, a fully equipped kitchen, 24 hour reception and security surveillance, and much much more!
We chose this property not only for its unique beauty but also for its location. The Search House is the only hostel in Barra da Lagoa with private access to the 14 km stretch of pristine beachfront. While our facility is like a magical oasis that you dont want to leave, we are active people and we encourage our guests to take advantage of all this location has to offer. Whether you are an experienced or beginner surfer, this beach has the right conditions for all.
As well as surfing, you have the opportunity to kayak, stand-up paddle board, snorkel, kitesurf, cycle, or skate on our custom built half-pipe. If you prefer a slower pace you can explore all the wonders of this magical island by foot, or take advantage of our dedicated yoga and meditation spaces, or simply relax by the pool or take in the sun while reading a book on our private beach area. By night we have a fully equipped outdoor bar with a great sound system, and we know how to party! From pool parties to live concerts, we have your social schedule covered. We are located close to the central hub of Lagoa Da Conceio, where you have a wide selection of restaurants, bars and clubs. We also have connections with the best nightspots and can help arrange your night out with a direct shuttle service.

Amazing accommodation! Staff were the best staff I have ever experienced out of all hostels AND hotels - very friendly and helpful!! There are also LOTS of activities! The only downside for me was that it wasn’t exactly a smoke-free facility - while smoking was not allowed inside buildings, it was allowed in the courtyard (central location on premises) so people smoked around food, the pool, and it blew inside the building. So if you have asthma or sensitivities to that, this may not be the best

I have stayed in a lot of hostels over the year, but I definitely rank this one in my top ones. From the staff, to the location and facilities, all have been excellent. Being able to just grab a coffee and walk over the beach or go surfing right outside of the complex, is just absolutely fantastic. The restaurant and bar are also highly recommendable!

Great location, beautiful set up right on the beach. Hostel was clean and staff were helpful. I think we got unlucky as didn’t feel there was much of an atmosphere, the streets even seemed very quiet and the weather was quite rainy and cool which doesn’t help, although in saying this the hostel really has a lot of potential I’m sure the right time of year. Maybe the daily/night activities could be better organised as there were a few nights that nothing got organised.
