Hostal La Isla is located in the heart of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, a 2-minute walk to the cafes, restaurants, and shops of the main walking street Real de Guadalupe. The hostel enjoys close proximity to the town’s main squares, markets, and popular attractions, along with a more relaxed, quiet atmosphere on a less busy side street.
We are proud to offer free yoga/meditation classes to our guests, movie nights, thrift shop tours and family dinners.
The hostel features cozy common areas on each floor, with 2 outdoor terraces, 3 indoor living areas, and a shared kitchen where a continental breakfast is served each morning.
There is free high-speed WiFi for anyone looking to work remotely or just watch a movie. We use the same high speed internet that is used in co-working spaces.

Staff was amazing, super friendly and welcoming, did not try too hard. Very relaxed atmosphere, beautiful house. And a great breakfast! Stayed in both a private room and a dorm, both were great. Definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to San Crisóbal, and will definitely come back to La Isla if and when we come back. Did not want to leave!

The location of the hostel is very good and near the Town Centre. It was super clean and even though the breakfast was small, it was very healthy + you can take more than one coffee :) Which is very nice for starting the day. I booked a sleeping Capsule and loved it, even though my light didn´t work. When I told the people at reception they just said that they know and that I can change bed if there is a another free one.. another point was the poor execution of activities in which I found myself left behin

I had an incredible time. Ended up extending my stay because I loved the atmosphere so much and made some lovely friends. This hostel has a very warm friendly vibe. Would recommend if you’re after making nice connections. Plenty of space to do your own thing. And they offer really good free yoga on the rooftop 3 times a week
