Finca Escalante is located between San Jose downtown and the popular university area of San Pedro. We are close enough to the city where all the bus stations to the outskirts of the country are located and far enough so you can have a good night's sleep.

In this sense we have private rooms for those people looking for a more relaxing stay, meanwhile for those venturesome travelers we have dorms fully equipped. In addition, we have the following services: computers with internet connection and Wi-Fi, walking tours through the city, parking, linen and towels, printing, coffee and tea, lockers and locks, luggage storage, tour booking and information desk, and local calls.

Great hostel with a lot of potential! Nice homey vibes with an open concept. Big garden in the back. Proper cleaning schedules and methods. The location is prime in Barrio Escalante area and offers a quick walk to a market, atm, various dining and bar spots. The San Pedro mall with a variety of cuisine at cheaper prices isn’t a far walk either. I stayed in a private and dorm and think both had good layouts and privacy 👠also the Breakfast is GREAT! One of the best hostels i’ve been in Costa Rica

Best place to stay at San José, una zona muy segura y con muchas opciones para comer y salir de fiesta. Thanks to Dairon at the reception that is always helping with doubts and information.

Overall we had a good stay at Finca Escalante ! We really appreciated the included breakfast. The dorm set up was nice as well, we weren’t really lucky with our room mates which made the stay a bit uncomfortable.
We didn’t like that our sheets were ripped and a bit dirty looking which is not that big of a deal.
One thing we’d recommend improving is the bathrooms. One of them was always flooded from people taking showers. There also isn’t a lot of room to put your stuff down.
