At Tribe on the Beach, we're here to stop you doing anything too extraordinary! Beach backpacker life in the turquoise Caribbean is simply not like that.

We're in 'the heart of the beautiful Mayan Riviera', looking out towards Isla Cozumel, and this richly historical Caribbean Sea.

The city has beautiful archaeology right on our doorstep for the casual stroller, or a short bus ride for the adventurous, culture buff. There's ancient Spanish and Mayan villages, traditional ceremonies, spiritual experiences, live music , skydiving, diving with sharks, swimming, snorkeling coral reefs, amazing cave diving, and fabulous restaurants and nightlife. Then there are group trips to clubs, restaurants, springs, archaeological sites, pubs, and the beaches as well as Mexican dinners (on our terrace or at the beach) and, never to be missed, Georgian poetry readings.

There's coffee every morning as the Sun rises directly in front of the hostel. The Mayans sunbathed here; the Spanish bathed, the Americans and Australians do, um, American and Australian things. Life really hasn't changed much in 3,000 years and you will do what they did. But, we have free WiFi, as well. We really are here to stop you doing anything extraordinary!

Our air-conditioned rooms are doused in the sun 16 hours a day, every day of the year! When you arrive you'll get fresh linen, a secure place for your possessions, a cosy bed, clean bathrooms, sassy social socializing spots, help with your bookings, travel plans, and excursions. You really won't regret staying with us!

We're 40 minutes by bus from Cancun International Airport, and you can reach us easily (and cheaply) from Tulum, Holbox, Mujeres, Bacalar, Merida, Campeche, Mauhaul and Cozumel. Ferries stop right outside our door, buses 2 minutes away.

Then, sitting with friends, a wine and a BBQ, watching the sun dip over the city, you'll appreciate this irony... at Tribe, the sun never truly sets!

Policies and Conditions of Tribe on the Beach:

You agree when confirming this reservation that

* You must give 72 hours prior to arrival to cancel without penalty.. In case of late cancellation, (within the 72 hour timeframe) you will be charged the full price of your stay.
* If you do not arrive to check in, or check in but do not stay, you will be a 'No Show' and you will be charged the full price of your stay.
* If you book a Non-refundable Rate, you will be charged upon making the reservation. You must pay for this reservation in full, even if you cancel or modify it.
* To keep prices low, all bed rates are quoted here for cash payments. All card payments incur an additional 7% charge to cover service costs.
* All payments are confirmation of your commitment to us, and are non-refundable. This also applies to extensions, and the agreement to extend is binding here as a confirmed reservation

Check-in from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Check-out from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Payment upon arrival in cash, credit cards, debit cards.
* We may preauthorize your card before arrival or, in the case of non-refundable bookings, charge the full cost of the reservation. If your credit card does not work, we will ask you to provide a new number within 24 hours. If you do not do so and your credit card still fails, you agree that we cancel your reservation, and the commission payment is non-refundable. You will still be obligated to pay the non-refundable booking cost.

An additional 80 MXN can be added at check-in for breakfast.

The hostel is located in a pedestrian area of the city, and the entrance is within a gallery. We will send you easy-to-follow instructions, but please send us a WhatsApp message if you cannot find our door.
