Onda, the name of our hostel, means ripples in Spanish. It puts forward the impact that we want to have in the community through our business. We want to create ripples by encouraging local guides and producers, as well as by getting involved in different social and environmental projects taking place in the village or in its area.

We focus more on fun, chill, nice vibes. We welcome any backpacker who has good stories to tell, whatever the age. Onda Hostel offers large social areas, a common kitchen and clean rooms for any type of traveler (dorm, family private or cabaña), all of which with its own private bathroom. We'll also provide our travelers with multiple activities on site or in the area (local tours, beach games, board games, dinner parties, etc.) but reading a book in a hammock with a beautiful view of the ocean, while sipping Ecuadorian coffee is also part of the experience!

Can’t express how brilliant this place is! Such lovely people, lovely vibe. Highly recommend! Ways to improve: better WiFi, cleaner bathroom next to the kitchen, mosquito nets over all beds, free mosquito spray for guests (big ask haha). Thanks so much!

A really great place to stay for a really chill beach trip. Great, helpful staff, volunteers, and other travelers. Breakfast is delicious.

Fantastic hostel, one of the best ones we've stayed in in 7 months. The BEST breakfast by far! The staff/volunteers are great and very helpful people. The kitchen is big and well equipped. Beds are comfy. Bathroom situation is a little awkward and especially the sinks could be cleaner. Beautiful roof terrace and sun deck with lots of chill out areas. Fruit & veggie truck comes around. Activities and tides are on a board, surf board rental. Recommend and would definitely go back!
