It’s a good place for surfers and maybe for some remote working, altough there are no air-conditioned rooms for it. I met interesting people and the vibe was pretty good in general. The bathrooms and showers were not so good. There was a sauna which was a nice bonus. Be aware that it’s pretty far from the Rio center, but this can be also good if you don’t want to party all the time.

Had though about visiting the other side of Rio even before the trip, I did not regret it at all! The staff, the ambiance and the view were all amazing, and they offered some Yoga and Surfing session as well. The downside was just the location, as to enjoy a quiet side of Rio and beaches, grocery, bars and resto were all blocks away, as well as transport. For cleaningness, as most of the review mentioned, it was a bit unpleasant, yet, for my personal POV, it is expected for a beach side hostel.

Extremely fun and kind hostel. Showers and rooms are a bit musty, and some random dude laid in my bed, but other than that a very good time. they rent you surfboards
