Sara's Backpackers Hostel

Hello Backpackers!
We are Sara and Sudan and welcome you to Nepal. We love meeting travelers so much we turned one floor in our family home into a hostel. Come stay in a cozy bed, rest and rejuvenate before making your next move. Whether you're on an extreme budget and would like to camp on our roof, prefer a private room with an attached bathroom or coexist in the dorm and shared spaces, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We are conveniently located in baniyatar which is away from all the tourist chaos but close enough to take a 20 min microbús or 40 min walk (4.5km) to all the major attractions such as Thamel district and monkey temple. We offer authentic Nepali cuisine at our family dinner table or you can try any of the nearby restaurants. If you are unsure of what to do- we can always recommend something to fit your budget and even help you plan your next trek.

Transportation to baniyatar might seem complicated, however it is quite easy.
Arriving by plane?
You can take a taxi to Gongabu chowk, baniyatar pool (8km~ Rs. 900)
Or bus to gongabu chowk (Rs 25) and walk (15min) or microbús (Rs15) to baniyatar pool. (Pool means 'bridge' in Nepali). Cross the bridge and follow the road 120m until you see 'Saras Backpackers Hostel' where you will take a left. Continue down the street 120m until you see our yellow house (5 floors, yellow gate, sign in front wall)

If you have any problems please have your driver give us a call or ask to borrow a phone, people are generally nice here.

Sara's Backpacker hostel is a family run hostel. Hostel is located in Baniyatar Road in calm and friendly neighborhood , 40 minutes walking distance from city center or 20 min microbús. Hostel have everything from hot shower to good home cooked food and we also arrange tour and you can enjoy dinner and party with family and we sometimes provide bikes for free or on rent .
