The Samesun Banff is so wonderful! The staff was super nice and helpful, definitely one of the nicest staff I've encountered so far in hostels. The bar downstairs has really good and very affordable food (especially compared to the prices in Banff) and is a great place to meet people. It's great to come back after a long day of exploring and not having to look for a place to eat ;) The kitchen has lots of space to store food, which is great, although one more sink would be great,

I did a week long solo ski trip to Banff, and staying at this hostel was the cheapest option during peak ski season. Samesun is right in downtown Banff, walkable to all the stores, bars, restaurants and the movie theater (which I went to three nights in a row during my stay there). I stayed in a 6 person dorm. The facilities are about average,, and most people in my room were there to ski. Wet snow gear makes the rooms smell musty, but not overly so.. Decent breakfast. Good bar.
