Situated in the city centre and directly opposite to the extensive and famous harbor, our Youth Hostel is well placed for visiting Hamburg's traditional Fish Market (since 1703), galleries and shops - as well as enjoying the vibrant nightlife and seafarer romantic - the way it was once celebrated in the songs of the German crooner Hans Albers - at the famous 'Reeperbahn' and the neighbouring 'Schanzenviertel', a place of pulsing scene life.
Our Youth Hostel offers capacity for 357 people and facilities include TV, laundry, kitchen and meal services. From the terrace of our hostel, guests enjoy a fabulous view of the harbor.
Important: For a stay with us a Hostelling International Membership is required. International guests without membership pay a surcharge of 3,50 Euro for the first 6 nights to obtain a full membership for the use of more than 4.000 Youth Hostels worldwide. German residents can become a member of the German Youth Hostel Association for 12,50 Euro per year (older than 26 years and for families: 21,00 Euro) upon arrival.
Prices apply to guests younger than 26 years. Guests older than 26 years pay a surcharge of 5,50 Euro per person and night. All prices include breakfast and sheets.
Mixed dorms and double rooms can only be booked by adults, minimum age 18 years!

Like all YHI hostels, it means high quality in all senses and price as well, I would definitely recommend it and come back. Perfect location, next to a subway station, just on the harbour, easy walking from Philarmonica building and city center. Big and clean rooms, comfy beds, nice common areas and extraordinary included breakfast. Staff was so friendly and helpful.

Basically was a school hostle very boring in the hostle nothing to do and no socializing with people, only good for a night or two other than that good luck. Good location for going out at night

Great location, just a few stops on the s-bahn from the main train station. Everything you will probably want to do is either a short walk or train ride away. Also ferry 62 leaves from just 2 mins walk away for a harbour tour included in the one day Hamburg bus / train ticket. Its a large hostel with lots of groups and children running around. Buffet breakfast is included and very good
